Iranian negotiators present conditions to Pakistan under 10-point proposal: Spox
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei says the Iranian delegation in Islamabad has formally laid out Tehran’s conditions under its 10-point proposal to Pakistan, which is mediating ceasefire talks between Iran and the United States.
Baghaei, who is who is in Islamabad as part of the Iranian negotiating team, told reporters that Iran has made it clear from the start that a ceasefire must be real and implemented in the true sense of the word.
Baghaei said the discussions between the Iranian and the Pakistani side lasted approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.
Iran’s considerations, viewpoints, and demands, based on the same 10-point proposal package, were conveyed to the Pakistani side, he said, adding “It was important for us to express our country’s viewpoints without any ambiguity.”
The Iranian FM described as highly responsible the country's decision to accept the ceasefire with the US as a step toward a complete end to the war.

Baghaei reiterated that Iran is in close contact with the armed forces, emphasizing the country’s core demand for a genuine ceasefire.
“From the beginning, we emphasized that when we say ceasefire, we mean a complete ceasefire. We are carefully monitoring to see if any ceasefire violations occur,” he said.
He added that based on the reports, “apart from the initial hours of the ceasefire, to which we responded decisively, we have not received any reports of ceasefire violations against Iran since then.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry is in touch with Lebanon to make sure ceasefire commitments are being respected on all fronts, he said.
“Based on the agreement reached, the cessation of war in Lebanon was part of the ceasefire. The Pakistani mediator has also clarified this,” Baghaei said.
Lebanese officials close to Hezbollah told the Reuters news agency on Friday that the group was supportive of the Pakistan-mediated negotiations, and said it was the right approach instead of a separate set of talks in Washington next week.
A high-ranking Iranian delegation is in the Pakistani capital for talks with the United States, amid the Islamic Republic's warnings that failure to meet Tehran's preconditions would prompt the process to fail.
Headed by Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the delegation, featuring security, political, military, economic, and legal committees, arrived in Islamabad on Friday.
